What is a 60 second story?
A 60 second story is in no way meant to reduce a victim’s experience, but a way to help them find their voice. A 60 second story is a message of hope. It’s to empower the victim and for the community to embrace their story. For a victim of abuse, being heard equals freedom.
A 60 second story may also be shared by a secondary victim; a parent, sibling, friend, spouse, child, etc. For every victim, there is a circle of people affected who also have a story to share.
This platform gives someone a chance to reflect on the experiences that have been most impactful while navigating the consequences of abuse. Who you are, the event, breaking the silence, and moving forward.
